I was in your office a little over a week ago .... XXXXXX..... and you worked on both of my lower lids to correct thick eyeliner from someone else. I don't know, exactly, what you did, but the scabs fell off yesterday and I am SO THRILLED. You did a remarkable job and I will be forever thankful!! Permanent make-up changed my life!

I don't know when it started or why but I have been pulling out my eyebrows and eyelashes for years. It's classified as an Impulse Control Disorder called Trichotillomania (Trick-o-till-o-mania) and is defined as the "recurrent pulling out of one's own hair that results in considerable hair loss". No one really knows what causes it and the remedies include behavioral therapy and medication that seldom work for long.

Well, as you can imagine, not having any eyebrows or eyelashes leaves one's face very plain and without definition. They say that the eyes are the windows to the soul and eyebrows give definition to expression. Well I had no curtains on my windows and no expressions. I felt very plain and sometimes even like an alien. People would tell me I'm beautiful and I would politely say thank you when on the inside I said yeah, right. I only bothered with makeup if it was a special occasion when cameras would be around. It was too difficult and time consuming to try to draw straight and even eyebrows every day. If someone caught me off guard I'd hide. People would ask me what happened to my lashes and I would tell them I had an allergic reaction to mascara and they all fell out. I don't know if Whoopee Goldberg does this or not but what did you think the first time you saw her face? To me it wasn't odd; it was comforting to know I wasn't the only person in the world with a bald face.

I had thought about permanent makeup for a long time but it was a scary thought. I have tattoos and the thought of a tattoo machine near my face and eyes just freaked me out. And going to a professional permanent make up artist is something I couldn't afford. Then I found a SofTap® page on the Internet. It was a lot more comforting thought than a machine but still expensive. That page led me to Jane's page and the possibility of being a model for one of her classes. Being a model was a lot less expensive than being a client. I called her and asked a million questions. She was very patient and assured me that my face wouldn't end up crooked or scarred for life. So I made an appointment to be a model the next time I was in Arizona visiting family.

On June 30, 2002, I drove to Jane's school with a lot of excitement and a little apprehension. She ended up doing my make up herself because her class had to be rescheduled. We talked a lot. We worked out the colors to use, she drew on my face to get just the right look and placement that I wanted, and then I lay on the table. She did my eyeliner first. I was so amazed; it was totally painless for me! I think at some point, as she was doing my brows, I dozed off. And when she was finished, I was a totally new me, inside as well as out! I looked into that mirror and started to cry.

When I got home to my parent's house my Mom cried and my Dad had this wonderful grin on his face. I'll never forget it. My whole family (who normally didn't approve of my having tattoos) and all of my friends were thrilled!

A few weeks later Jane sent me the before and after pictures you see here. To me the difference is as wide as the Grand Canyon is long! I definitely, whole-heartedly and emphatically recommend SofTap® permanent makeup to everyone dealing with facial Trichotillomania!! Jane, Thank you! DO NOT let anyone tell you is ok to use camo skin tone pigments to cover poorly done permanent makeup. HUGE mistake!!!!

Find someone skilled in color and shape correction that is honest. Trust me I am queen of corrections and I see so much worse crap that people try to mask with camo pigments.

Also warning it is not legal in the state of Arizona to be tattooed out of a residence! When you see adds for $50.00 permanent makeup please run. Trust me as an expert is OSHA BBP standards for all forms of tattooing one cannot afford to offer safe and clean procedures at those fees.

It has been my honor to work with Jane Adler in the area of Occupational Health and Safety for almost ten years. From our first meeting as an OSHA Training Institute Instructor I could tell that her shop, Facial Art by Jane, had established a safety and health protocol that I had never seen in any tattoo, piercing or ‘body art studio that I have visited. My Code!

Let me start with my back story. I am not a 9 to 5 gal, never have been and never will be. I buck authority and always want more. Since a child I lived for all things creative, beautiful, colorful and balanced. Being lost in my mind. I spent a large portion of my life lost and just trying to survive. Endless jobs with an eclectic array. Poor choices and bad situations. Never really having any hope to move to the next level while always wanting more. Wanting that magic feeling.

Well here we go. I found that in 1994. All things fabulous combined; color, balance, skill, a challenge, having to answer only to myself and having a chance to change lives and be validated. I found my passion. Cosmetic Tattooing. I spent years and years mastering my craft and never limiting my knowledge or being afraid to know humility. When you do what you love it does not matter if your back hurts, are tired or irritated with all the personalities that make up this world. When you leave work it is all good. Never dreading going into the office is a godsend.

Like my dearest friend I feel bad for all the folks that do not meet their potential and grasp for the stars. Since the biggest relationship in life we will ever has is what we do it should matter. We probably spend a good 80% of our time working so it has to matter. I am blessed to have found my bliss and will be tattooing until I can no longer move. Now that is exciting. When one has the passion for the big relationship all else can fall into place like love, family, faith, fun and more.

Never ever forget your passion and if you have not found it, get busy. With all the challenges in life and our economy one has to have purpose!

body, enhance awareness of your skeletal alignment, and notice the

effects of your physical movement on your structure. Healthy movement

restores our natural, well-designed postural alignment. Improved

posture can increase circulation, allow the body's organs, glands and

systems to function optimally, ease muscular and mental tension, and more.

Gentle exercises and stretching done in class will allow your body to

move toward its’ full functional movement potential in everyday life

situations. Homework exercises will allow you to continue to build your

awareness and functionality.

Come experience how your body can change through healthy, thoughtful

movement.
